She now resides in the U.S in New York, having pursued a career as a journalist. Her foray into journalism began in the town of Batley, West Yorkshire, England, where her father ran a textile export business based in Victoria Warehouse at 13 Bradford Road.  She began her journalistic career working for the local newspaper, The Batley News, later emigrating to America in the late 1990s.
