Making their Mark is a Heritage Lottery Funded project administered by the Bradford Synagogue in Bowland Street, Bradford.
The synagogue opened in the Spring of 1881 is Yorkshire’s oldest synagogue and rated one of the top ten historic synagogues in England by Jewish Heritage UK.
Our project has four key aims:
- The creation of a Jewish Heritage Trail usable by all from schools to tourists
- The training of Heritage Tour guides
- The creation of a Jewish Heritage Hub at Bowland Street Synagogue
- The documentation of people’s memories
During the life of the project we’ll be running a programme of events and we want you to take part.
If you’re a resident of Bradford or a former Bradfordian with a story to tell about the Jewish community or if you have documents or artefacts that you think we’d be interested in then contact us.
