A is for Allerton a suburb of our city
B is for Bradford home of this ditty
C is for Cullingworth a route to the Moors
D is for Denholme never home to Diana Dors
E is for East Morton where you can find the Busfield Arms
F is for Fagley a place with many charms
G is for Girlington home to the once infamous Sloane Square
H is for Heaton where in exotic shops you buy a Chinese Pear
I is for Idle famous for its Working Men’s Club
J is for Jowett, the Bradford car gleaming after a rub
K is for Keighley once home to Peter Black
L is for Lumb Lane, when you’ve strayed off the track
M is for Manningham, known throughout the North
N is for News brought daily by the T and A of course
O is for Odsal home to Bradford Bulls the Rugby League team,
P is for Park Avenue, once home to a footballing dream
Q is for Queensbury home to the highest point
R is for Riddlesden with a Hall than can haunt
S is for Shipley, once one of the Jewels in the Crown
T is for Thornton, a village not a Town
U is for Undercliffe where the dead sleep at night
V is for Vicar Lane where buildings hide the light
W is for Wibsey, a place I’ve never been
X is for Movies, I’ve never ever seen
Y is for Yankel, a Jew who in Bradford found his place
Z is for Zaman, a Pakistani newcomer who in Bradford found space.
